IU East’s Honors Program celebrates 10th anniversary

This spring, the Indiana University East Honors Program is celebrating its 10th anniversary. The first Honors introductory course, H100, was taught in spring 2005 with 15 students.HonorsAnniversary

The Honors Program is an academic program that provides an intellectually enriched curriculum for highly motivated students, allowing them to demonstrate academic excellence through Honors coursework, independent research, creative work, and extracurricular opportunities. Members of the Honors Program are on-campus undergraduate students from all different majors and degrees.  In addition to taking Honors options in five of their courses, they complete a senior thesis of research, service-learning, or creative work.

IU East announces 2014 Lingle Scholars

IU East announces 2014 Lingle Scholars

Maddie Truette and Jarrod Lemar have been chosen as the 2014 Lingle Scholars. The scholarship award will continue throughout their pursuit of a four-year degree at Indiana University East.MaddieTruette

Both graduated in June 2014 and are freshmen at IU East this fall. Truette is a graduate of Centerville Senior High School and Lemar is a graduate of Richmond High School.

IU East Honors Program Induction welcomes students to academic program

The Indiana University East Honors Program inducted 46 students during the annual Honors Induction and Pinning Ceremony held November 21 in the Hayes Hall Campus Library. The Honors HonorsProgram2013Program is an academic program that provides an intellectually enriched curriculum for highly-motivated students.

IU East announces 2013 Lingle Scholars

IU East announces 2013 Lingle Scholars

Olivia Robinson and Logan Ullery have been chosen as the 2013 Lingle Scholars. The scholarship award will continue throughout their pursuit of a four-year degree at Indiana University East.
Both graduated in June 2013 and are freshmen at IU East this fall. Robinson is a graduate of Hagerstown High School and Ullery is a graduate of Northeastern High School.

IU East welcomes largest class of Honors Program inductees

The Indiana University East Honors Program inducted 66 students, its largest group to date, during the annual Honors Induction and Pinning Ceremony held November 15 in Vivian Auditorium. The Honors Program is an academic program that provides an intellectually enriched curriculum for highly-motivated students.

IU East announces 2012 Lingle Scholars

Danielle Peckinpaugh and Tyler Johnson have been chosen as the 2012 Lingle Scholars. The scholarship award will continue throughout their pursuit of a four-year degree at Indiana University East.

Both graduated in June 2012 and are freshmen at IU East this fall. Peckinpaugh is a graduate of Lincoln High School and Johnson is a graduate of Northeastern High School.
