The Indiana University East Alumni Association invites alumni to attend ReConnect 2013 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, in Springwood Hall.

Alumni will learn about the IU East campus today, meet students, and catch up with professors and classmates.

The next Indiana University East Alumni Association legislative forum will be held from 8-9 a.m. on Friday, February 22, in the Springwood Hall Graf Center. The forums are an opportunity for the community to have an in-person discussion with Senator Allen Paul and Representatives Tom Saunders and Dick Hamm.

Indiana University East is planning a fundraising drive to benefit victims of the recent earthquakes in Haiti.

The fundraising effort will kick off during the IU East men’s basketball home game against Berea College on Jan. 30 at 2 p.m. at the Richmond High School Tiernan Center.

As an alumnus of Indiana University East, Rev. Mark Wesler has volunteered his time on the alumni board of directors and provided the invocation at commencement, celebrating with each new class as they graduated. Even though he has since moved away from Richmond, Wesler continues to visit the campus and is involved in alumni activities.

Area business leaders and guests are invited to attend the annual Indiana University Business Outlook Forum presented by Indiana University East and the IU Kelley School of Business as well as the IU East Alumni Association and the Eastern Indiana Chapter of the IU Alumni Association.

Keith N. Fargo is the recipient of the Indiana University East 2009 Distinguished Alumni Award. Fargo will receive the honorary award during the IU East commencement ceremony at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 15. The ceremony is being held at the Richmond High School Tiernan Center. He will lead the graduating class during the alumni induction ceremony.

The Indiana University East Alumni Association would like to invite members of the community and other interested individuals to submit nominations for the Indiana University East Distinguished Alumni Award.

The IU East Distinguished Alumni Award provides an opportunity to recognize outstanding Indiana University East alumni who have distinguished themselves through personal and professional accomplishments, community service, involvement with the university, and involvement with the Alumni Association.
