Indiana University East will host its 42nd Commencement Ceremony at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 10, at the Richmond High School Tiernan Center.
This year, the university will confer 532 baccalaureate degrees and 28 master’s degrees. The awarding of the degrees is a significant increase for IU East and this year marks the most awarded in the school’s history. In 2012, IU East awarded 445 baccalaureate degrees and 16 master’s degrees. Additionally, the first cohort of students in the Master of Science in Management will have degrees conferred during the ceremony.

Indiana University East received approval for the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The first cohort will begin in January 2012.

The Master of Science in Management and the Master of Science in Nursing degrees will soon be offered at the IU East campus in Richmond. Having received final official approval from the North Central Association’s Higher Learning Commission, IU East’s regional accreditor, these programs will attract students who wish to advance their education to the next step beyond the bachelor’s degree. These programs will bring to four the number of master’s programs offered by IU East, joining the Master of Science in Education and the Master of Social Work degrees.

Indiana University East received approval from the Indiana Commission for Higher Education for its Master of Science in Management. The graduate program will now move on to the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Schools and Colleges for its approval. Upon final approval, the new graduate degree could be offered at IU East as early as the fall 2011.

Indiana University East received approval for a new graduate degree program from the Indiana Commission for Higher Education on February 11 in Indianapolis. The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) could begin offering courses in fall 2011, pending final approval by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

Indiana University East is pursuing its fourth master’s degree program in one of the nation’s growing career fields. The Master of Science in Nursing degree was approved by the Indiana University Board of Trustees during its October 1 meeting.
By receiving the trustees’ approval, IU East may now submit the graduate program to the Indiana Commission for Higher Education and the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association for their approvals.

At its June 11 meeting, the Indiana University Board of Trustees gave its approval for Indiana University East to pursue further approvals for its third master’s degree program.
The Master of Science in Management will now move on to the Indiana Commission for Higher Education and the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association for their approvals. Upon approval of these two commissions, the new graduate degree could be offered at IU East as early as the fall 2011.

This summer, Indiana University East will offer its first graduate degree program at its Ivy Tech Community College site in Lawrenceburg. On Friday, March 12, the Indiana Commission for Higher Education approved the Master of Science in Education degree program for the Lawrenceburg campus.

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — The Indiana Commission for Higher Education today approved Indiana University East’s Master of Social Work degree. The commission’s approval is the final step in the process to implement the graduate program proposal. The decision was announced during the commission’s meeting held at Indiana State University in Terre Haute.
