Indiana University East and Morrisson-Reeves Public Library are proud to announce a storytelling series featuring award-winning actor, writer, and storyteller Jennie Kiffmeyer. Kiffmeyer will discuss the storytelling process and her one-woman show, Rivertown Dispatch, at 6 p.m. on Monday, September 24, in the Community Room, located in Whitewater Hall at IU East. Kiffmeyer will then perform Rivertown Dispatch at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2, at the Morrisson-Reeves Public Library. Both events are free and open to the general public; no registration is required.

Indiana University East Chancellor Nasser Paydar has been invited to the White House to participate in a roundtable discussion on college affordability and completion with administration officials. The roundtable discussion will be held Friday, March 23.

Indiana University East has named Pam Lamb director of medical education. Lamb will serve as the liaison between IU East, the Indiana University School of Medicine and Reid Hospital & Health Care Services for medical students completing clinical clerkships (rotations) in Richmond.

Ivy Tech Community College Richmond and Indiana University East have developed a partnership to enhance services for military students and veterans. The two institutions collaborated for funding through Operation Diploma, an initiative of the Military Family Research Institute at Purdue University, and received $99,999 beginning July 1, 2011, for several initiatives to help military and veteran students with their educational goals and employability.

Indiana University and Ivy Tech Community College, Lawrenceburg Campus, recently completed a six-year partnership and plan to continue to work together to meet the needs of Southeastern Indiana. Students can complete credits with both Ivy Tech and Indiana University via face-to-face classes with IU East at the Ivy Tech Lawrenceburg campus to earn a bachelor’s degree in business, elementary education, nursing or communication.

Indiana University East announced today (October 9) that a new degree completion program for a bachelor’s degree in communication studies will be offered in Lawrenceburg, Ind. located at Ivy Tech Southeast’s Lawrenceburg Riverfront Campus. The program was approved by the Indiana Commission for Higher Education at its meeting today held at IU East.

Indiana University East and Ivy Tech Community College announced today that they have entered into an agreement on programs that will significantly expand educational opportunities in southeast Indiana.
Indiana University East is now offering three bachelor’s degree completion programs for students enrolled at its regional center in Lawrenceburg, Ind. located at Ivy Tech Southeast’s Lawrenceburg Riverfront Campus. The completion programs are the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, RN to Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.

Indiana University East is initiating a five-year plan to establish greater opportunities for collaboration with area businesses and organizations through the Business Development Opportunities Program. The initiative has been made possible by a $140,000 grant from Lilly Endowment , Inc., which is being matched by IU East.
