Indiana University East presented two awards, one to IU East faculty and staff and one to the Wayne County Foundation, for their generous support of the campus and its students during the annual Spirit of Philanthropy Luncheon held October 17 at Forest Hills Country Club. Vice Chancellor for External Affairs Rob Zinkan presented the awards.

Indiana University East announced today the public launch of “Bold Aspirations: The Campaign for the Student Events Center” at its annual Spirit of Philanthropy Luncheon at Forest Hills Country Club.
The Student Events Center will be a $4.7 million multi-purpose addition to Springwood Hall. The facility will promote student success through a comprehensive offering of co-curricular opportunities.

Indiana University East raised $10,000 during its 2010 Scholarship Luncheon held November 16 to benefit the general scholarship fund.
Funding for scholarships is critical to supporting student access to education and enhancing opportunities for success. IU East has long awarded scholarships to both incoming and continuing students in recognition of their academic achievement, leadership and community service. The generosity of IU East’s friends and alumni has made it possible to help more students than ever before this academic year, with over $450,000 in scholarships awarded.

Indiana University East will collect items for the Chester Heights Building B residents who lost their homes to a fire on October 27. Anyone interested in donating gift cards, clothing, toiletries, or other household necessities, may drop-off items at upcoming events.

IU East raised $674 for Howl for Haiti!
Howl for Haiti was a fundraising drive held Feb. 1-5 to benefit victims of the recent earthquakes in Haiti. Donations were provided to the American Red Cross.

Indiana University East is planning a fundraising drive to benefit victims of the recent earthquakes in Haiti.
The fundraising effort will kick off during the IU East men’s basketball home game against Berea College on Jan. 30 at 2 p.m. at the Richmond High School Tiernan Center.

Indiana University East Chancellor Nasser Paydar received good news during the Celebration of Campus and Community. 
Indiana University President Michael McRobbie made a surprise announcement, stating that the university would match contributions to IU East’s campus beautification initiative up to $50,000.

The Indiana University Foundation honored Rob Quigg of Richmond and Danny Danielson of New Castle with two prestigious awards recognizing their dedication to the university. Quigg and Danielson accepted the awards during the Partners in Philanthropy Celebration Dinner at the IU Auditorium on October 18 in Bloomington.

(Richmond, Ind.) A dedication ceremony for the Quigg Family Foundation Nursing Laboratory and the Reid Hospital & Health Care Services Simulation Lab will be held August 24. The ribbon cutting ceremony will begin at 4 p.m. and be held in Hayes Hall on the patio.
