Richmond receives National Endowment for the Arts funding for cultural trail

Academy for Cultivating Talent celebrates successful first program focusing on women leaders

Indiana University East Academy for Cultivating Talent completed its first program “Carry It Forward: Creating Networks and Pipelines for Women Leaders,” on May 15. The program focused on creating pipelines for women to leadership positions in business and civic engagement and work with professional women in mid-level or senior-level positions who are poised to make a difference in their organization and community.

IU East gives out $7.68 million in scholarships to high school guidance counselors

Indiana University East distributed $7.68 million in scholarships today (November 5) to area high school guidance counselors from Indiana and Ohio during its annual Counselors’ Breakfast.

“It is our responsibility to lead the region as the premier four-year and master’s public institution in eastern Indiana and western Ohio,” said Chancellor Nasser Paydar. “It is a pleasure to work with these counselors who share our vision to increase the educational attainment in our region. Together, we are investing in the future of individual students and our communities.”

Economic report analyzes strengths, weaknesses for the Richmond area

Indiana University East and the Wayne County Foundation have partnered with the Indiana Business Research Center (IBRC) at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business to compile a report on community and economic benchmarks, which has just been completed and is now being released. The report compares the Richmond area to both a national and a statewide set of peers on a wide range of indicators, ranging from per capita personal income, to industry concentrations to area demographics.

Top Ten WVAAC artists announced

The Top Ten and awards for the Whitewater Valley Annual Art Competition were announced during the artists’ reception held Wednesday, November 5. There were 160 donors, patrons, faculty members, students, artists and general art lovers attended the awards reception.

IU East gives out over $5 million in scholarships to high school guidance counselors

Indiana University East distributed $5.04 million in scholarships today to area high school guidance counselors from Indiana and Ohio during its annual Counselors’ Breakfast held Thursday, November 13.

“We are once again collaborating with high school counselors to increase the level of attainment in the communities we serve together,” said Interim Chancellor Nasser Paydar. “By providing counselors with this tool, we are investing in the future of individual students and our region.”
