IU East reflects on Tom Raper’s legacy

Tom Raper, a longtime friend and devoted supporter of Indiana University East, passed away April 14, 2015, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

IU East Chancellor Kathryn Cruz-Uribe said that Tom believed in the importance of higher education to improve the lives of those living in Wayne County and throughout the region. He had a long-established history with the university including providing student scholarships, serving on the IU East Board of Advisors, and gifting IU East with the largest donation in its 44-year history.

IU East presents scholarships for high school students during Counselors’ Breakfast

Indiana University East distributed scholarships to area high school guidance counselors from Indiana and Ohio during its annual Counselors’ Breakfast held November 20 in Whitewater Hall.counselorsbreakfast2014

This is the eighth consecutive year that IU East has hosted the Counselors’ Breakfast. Over 60 guidance counselors attended. This year’s theme centered on Rockefeller Center and New York City.

IU East celebrates Spirit of Philanthropy

Indiana University East welcomes community supporters to the Spirit of Philanthropy Luncheon to thank these individuals for their contributions to scholarships, internships, leadership experiences and community service opportunities for students. The luncheon is from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22, at Forest Hills Country Club in Richmond.PeterKageyama

New scholarships offered at IU East to enhance service-learning, science research

The generosity of three donors has made it possible to offer new scholarships for students at Indiana University East.  Paul Kriese, professor of political science at IU East, and Rod and Chris Weiss will support the two new scholarships.

IU East Counselors’ Breakfast provides scholarships for high school students

Indiana University East distributed scholarships to area high school guidance counselors from Indiana and Ohio during its annual Counselors’ Breakfast held November 21 in Whitewater Hall.CounselorsBreakfast

This is the seventh consecutive year that IU East has hosted the Counselors’ Breakfast. Over 70 guidance counselors attended. This year’s theme centered on the holidays and traditions of Thanksgiving, Black Friday Shopping and Christmas.

This is the sixth consecutive year that IU East has hosted the Counselors’ Breakfast. This year’s theme was the Academy Awards.
