Indiana University East distributed scholarships to area high school guidance counselors from Indiana and Ohio during its annual Counselors’ Breakfast held November 8 in Whitewater Hall.
This is the sixth consecutive year that IU East has hosted the Counselors’ Breakfast. This year’s theme was the Academy Awards.

Indiana University East welcomes community supporters to the Spirit of Philanthropy Luncheon to thank these individuals for their contributions to scholarships, internships, leadership experiences and community service opportunities for students. The luncheon is from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17, at Forest Hills Country Club in Richmond. The event raises funds for scholarships and other community involvement experiences that provide important skill-building experiences for students.

The Indiana University East School of Nursing will honor three individuals with Nursing Excellence Awards during its upcoming gala “Celebration of Caring: Toasting a Legacy” from 6-10 p.m. on September 28. The nursing gala will be held at J&J Winery.

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application priority deadline is Saturday, March 10. By completing the FAFSA, applicants will automatically be considered for most federal and state grants, federal loans, and federal work-study, for the 2012-2013 academic year.

Indiana University East hosted its Annual High School Speech Tournament on December 10 in Whitewater Hall. Warren Central High School was the team sweepstakes champion. Over 200 students from 14 Indiana regional high schools competed in 14 events.

The Indiana University East Annual High School Speech Tournament will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2011, in Whitewater Hall. Registration is from 7:20-7:50 a.m. and the tournament will end by 3:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

A class from Richmond High School gained hands-on construction experience at Indiana University East. Brad Walton’s building construction class partnered with the campus to help build a well-known television game show set for its annual Guidance Counselors’ Breakfast held November 3.

Indiana University East distributed scholarships to area high school guidance counselors from Indiana and Ohio during its annual Counselors’ Breakfast held November 3 in Whitewater Hall.
“It is our responsibility to lead the region as the premier baccalaureate and master’s public institution in eastern Indiana and western Ohio,” said Chancellor Nasser Paydar. “It is a pleasure to work with these counselors who share our vision to increase the educational attainment in our region. Indiana University East raised $10,000 during its 2010 Scholarship Luncheon held November 16 to benefit the general scholarship fund.
Funding for scholarships is critical to supporting student access to education and enhancing opportunities for success. IU East has long awarded scholarships to both incoming and continuing students in recognition of their academic achievement, leadership and community service. The generosity of IU East’s friends and alumni has made it possible to help more students than ever before this academic year, with over $450,000 in scholarships awarded.
