A new community writing program at Indiana University East has received a grant from the Women’s Philanthropy Leadership Council (WPLC) at Indiana University. Red Wolves Write was awarded an $8,000 grant from the WPLC.

IU East enrollment surpasses 4,000 students, the first time for a spring semester in its history

Student enrollment at Indiana University East for the 2015 spring semester exceeded the 4,000 level for the first time ever.enrollment2015

As of the last day of registration on January 18, there were 4,016 students enrolled for the spring, exceeding last spring’s enrollment by 160 students. The increase represents a growth of 4.1 percent. Credit hours also reached a record level at 36,668, up 2.5 percent from last spring.

IU East students traveling to Dominican Republic to construct, distribute ceramic water filters

Indiana University East students are preparing to leave for the Dominican Republic this week to construct and distribute ceramic water filters for families in need of clean drinking water. Eight students will travel to the Dominican Republic November 20-25 as part of an online service-learning course at IU East.
