The Indiana University East Honors Program inducted 66 students, its largest group to date, during the annual Honors Induction and Pinning Ceremony held November 15 in Vivian Auditorium. The Honors Program is an academic program that provides an intellectually enriched curriculum for highly-motivated students.

The Indiana University East Campus Police Department is offering a new professional training program for students interested in careers in law enforcement.
Campus Police Chief Burt Cole said IU East is participating in the Indiana University Police Department Cadet Program for the first time this fall semester, along with IU Kokomo and IU Southeast.

Indiana University East will host “Homecoming 2012: Red Wolves Rising” November 12-16. Alumni, friends and the campus community are invited to participate in the activities and events throughout the week.
Homecoming events are sponsored by the Alumni Association, Office of Campus Life, Student Activities Advisory Team, Student Government Association, and Students Today Alumni Tomorrow.

Indiana University East welcomes community supporters to the Spirit of Philanthropy Luncheon to thank these individuals for their contributions to scholarships, internships, leadership experiences and community service opportunities for students. The luncheon is from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17, at Forest Hills Country Club in Richmond. The event raises funds for scholarships and other community involvement experiences that provide important skill-building experiences for students.

Indiana University East awarded six scholarships for the 2012 Summer Research Scholar Program. Undergraduate students receive $2,000 to conduct a research project under the supervision of a faculty mentor.
Funding for the program is provided by the Indiana University Office of the Vice Provost for Research and is matched by funds from IU East. The competitive program has expanded from the first single award given to now include up to six students each summer.
