Spotlight: IU East School of Nursing students travel nationally, abroad to gain community nursing skills

They immersed themselves into poverty, cultural diversity and community medicine in different areas of the United States.

IU East students lead sessions on Women in Art at the RAM
Indiana University East fine arts students will lead talks at the Richmond Art Museum during “Women in Art.” The first session is today (June 12) from 12:45-1:45 p.m. in McGuire Memorial Hall Auditorium. The sessions are free and open to the public.

IU East students to travel to Utah to study the American West

Thursday, October 6th

A group of Indiana University East students will leave on a trip Friday, October 7, to explore the American West. The 11 students, along with two faculty members, will depart from campus that morning to travel to southeastern Utah for a one-week excursion.

IU East students travel to study abroad in France, Belize

Thursday, May 5th

Indiana University East students will study abroad through two different courses this May. Separate educational opportunities have been planned for France and Belize.

Julien Simon, assistant professor of World Cultures and Languages, is leading the trip to France so that students may experience the country’s culture and history first-hand. The trip is May 7-15 and includes Paris, Verdun, Lyon, and Versailles.

IU East Music Department goes on European Tour

Friday, July 2nd

RICHMOND, Ind. – Seven Indiana University East students studied abroad throughout Europe as part of a broad-based culture and non-linear music history and composition courses. The students visited two main city epicenters of music – Venice and Vienna – while they traveled. Students left for Europe on May 24 and returned June 7.

IU East students to share research from Costa Rica

Friday, April 23rd

It’s not often students can directly see the impact spending habits at home can have on communities outside of the United States.

A group of Indiana University East students traveled to Costa Rica as part of their class on Fair Trade versus Free Trade and the Effects of Globalization on Central America taught by Teresa Henderson, lecturer of World Languages and Cultures. While there, the class studied free and fair trade as well as the effects international corporations have on environmental systems.
