The pinning ceremony for Indiana University East nursing graduates on Friday, May 10, begins at 2 p.m. with a slide show followed by the ceremony at 2:30 p.m. The annual ceremony for nursing students will be held at the Ligthhouse Assembly of God, located at 2339 West Cart Road in Richmond.

Indiana University East will host its 42nd Commencement Ceremony at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 10, at the Richmond High School Tiernan Center.
This year, the university will confer 532 baccalaureate degrees and 28 master’s degrees. The awarding of the degrees is a significant increase for IU East and this year marks the most awarded in the school’s history. In 2012, IU East awarded 445 baccalaureate degrees and 16 master’s degrees. Additionally, the first cohort of students in the Master of Science in Management will have degrees conferred during the ceremony.

The Indiana University East Enactus team won a regional championship in its league during the Enactus United States Regional Competition Exposition held April 12 in Chicago. The team will advance to the national competition May 21-23 in Kansas City.

Indiana University East continues to increase its record enrollment in both the number of students enrolled on campus and the number enrolled through its online degree completion programs. Compared to spring 2012, IU East has increased its enrollment by 15.7 percent (3,872 headcount). Students will take 6.3 percent more credit hours this spring semester compared to spring 2012, a total of 35,400 credit hours.

The Indiana University East Honors Program inducted 66 students, its largest group to date, during the annual Honors Induction and Pinning Ceremony held November 15 in Vivian Auditorium. The Honors Program is an academic program that provides an intellectually enriched curriculum for highly-motivated students.

Indiana University East welcomes community supporters to the Spirit of Philanthropy Luncheon to thank these individuals for their contributions to scholarships, internships, leadership experiences and community service opportunities for students. The luncheon is from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17, at Forest Hills Country Club in Richmond. The event raises funds for scholarships and other community involvement experiences that provide important skill-building experiences for students.
