IU East announces College Go! Week events

October 12, 2009 |

Indiana University East kicks off College Go! Week today. The weeklong event offers high school students, their parents and the community the opportunity to explore IU East and its academic programs.

The Indiana Commission for Higher Education has initiated College Go! Week to encourage high school students to pursue a college education.

“We are excited to announce a full week of activities that include highlights for scholarships, campus spirit and traditions, and opportunities for honors students, student-athletes, and many others,” said Molly Vanderpool, director of Admissions at IU East. “Application fees for future freshman and transfer students applying for the spring, summer or fall 2010 term will be waived between October 12-16 when using the online or paper application.”

With fall enrollment reaching a record high, more high school students are making IU East their university of choice. This year’s freshman class is the largest ever, and nearly 90 percent of new freshmen entered directly from high school. The Class of 2013 is record-setting in quality as well, arriving with the highest average GPA and class rankings in campus history.
