IU East appoints new vice chancellor for External Affairs

Indiana University East Chancellor Kathryn Cruz-Uribe announced today that Jason Troutwine has been named IU East Vice Chancellor for External Affairs. Troutwine is currently foundation director at Reid Hospital & Health Care Services/Reid Foundation. He will begin his new duties at IU East on July 1, 2014.

“I am humbled to be selected for this position. As the region’s campus of choice for four-year and master’s education, IU East is an integral part of our academic and economic future. I look forward to being part of the continued growth and success of IU East,” Troutwine said.

The vice chancellor for External Affairs is responsible for the strategic leadership of all IU East development functions, alumni relations, external and community relations, major campus events, and articulation and promotion of the university mission through communications and marketing. External Affairs at IU East is recognized nationally as a leader for excellence in Alumni Relations and Campus Events, Communications and Marketing, and Gift Development.

Chancellor Cruz-Uribe said, “I am delighted that Jason Troutwine will be joining the senior leadership team at IU East.  He knows our region and the communities we serve, and brings a wide range of experience in gift development, communications, marketing and events.  The fact that Jason is an alum of IU East is an added bonus.”  She added: “I would like to thank the search committee, Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, for their timely and thoughtful work on this search.”

At Reid Foundation, Troutwine was responsible for directing Reid Hospital & Health Care Services’ philanthropic program, including fundraising, event planning, marketing, community relations, and donor recognition.
