IU East political science faculty available to discuss the November 8 election

Indiana University East has faculty available to discuss the election on a local, state and national level. Ross Alexander, dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Chera LaForge, assistant professor of political science, will be available to discuss this year’s election.

Ross Alexander

Alexander serves as dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences and professor of political science. He earned a Ph.D. in Political Science from Northern Illinois University and an M.P.A. from Arizona State University.

Alexander has published numerous book chapters and academic journal articles in the areas of American politics, state and local government, public budgeting and finance, gambling policy, public personnel administration, online teaching and learning, and information literacy in higher education.

Chera LaForge

LaForge is an assistant professor of political science. She received her Ph.D. and M.A. in Political Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

LaForge’s main research interests lie in Congress and legislative behavior. Specifically, she looks at how progressive ambition, or the desire for legislators to move on to more prestigious political offices, impacts the quality of representation and campaign behavior.
