IU East receives gold, silver, bronze from Educational Advertising Awards

Indiana University East has received several awards from the 25th Annual Educational Advertising Awards, sponsored by the Higher Education Marketing Report. The national competition recognizes the fields of admissions marketing and advertising.

According to the Higher Education Marketing Report, the Educational Advertising Awards is the largest educational advertising awards competition in the country. This year, over 2,000 entries were received from more than 1,000 colleges, universities and secondary schools from all 50 states and several foreign countries.

IU East received a gold, silver, two bronze, and two merit awards, leading all universities in the state of Indiana.

“We take great pride in IU East and enjoy the work that we do to showcase the campus and advance its reputation throughout our region and beyond,” said Rob Zinkan, executive director for External Affairs. “I am very proud of our Communications and Marketing team and the talent, creativity, and dedication of these individuals.”
John Dalton, director of Communications and Marketing, said, “We are thrilled to be recognized by our peers on a national stage.”

The Educational Advertising Awards include:

• Gold – Imprinted Materials: Red Wolves T-Shirt Design

• Silver – Radio Single Spot:  “IU- Focused on You”

• Bronze – Newspaper Series: Richmond Register Social Media Campaign

• Bronze – Magazine (Single Ad):  IUEverywhere–Newsweek Ad

• Merit – Outdoor:  “IU- Focused on You” Billboard Campaign

• Merit – Other:   Red Wolves Bus Design

In December, IU East received four awards from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District V for excellence in fundraising, communications and marketing, and special events.  IU East’s Office of External Affairs received three gold awards (Best Practices in Fundraising and Development, Best Event on a Shoestring, and Excellence in Print Advertising) and a silver award (Best Radio PSA or Commercial Spot) in the annual Pride of Case V Awards Program.

Also in December, IU East’s homepage, www.iue.edu, was named Noteworthy Site of the Month by eduStyle, which focuses on higher education websites and is peer reviewed by higher education web design professionals.
