Indiana University East is reorganizing its senior administrative structure to support more directly its expanded mission as a comprehensive bachelor’s and master’s degree institution. This new structure places emphasis on academics and the academic needs of students, while also providing for the effective management of a broad range student activities, events and services. As a public institution serving the residents in east central Indiana and west central Ohio, the university has a special responsibility to meet regional needs for higher education in as efficient way as possible.

These changes in leadership will allow IU East to fulfill its responsibilities with an even higher level of quality and service, at no additional cost. As a consequence, the campus and its Interim Chancellor, Dr. Nasser Paydar, anticipate major enrollment growth over the next few years, a trend that is already being realized this fall with a substantially larger freshmen class than last year. IU East is also now better positioned to play the critical role in the economic development of the region that a university can play, while it continues to enrich the artistic and cultural life of its communities.

Chancellor Paydar met with all faculty and staff to discuss this new structure, which has been overwhelmingly endorsed. The structure includes positions for a new Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, a Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance, a Senior Advisor to the Chancellor, a Director of Information Technology and an Executive Director of External Affairs and Marketing, joining the Dean of Students and the Executive Director of Advancement as the senior officers reporting to the Chancellor.

“I am very excited to announce the realignment of our academic structure in such a short period of time after joining the IU East campus. It is momentous for us to move the campus to the next level academically and to build its involvement with the Richmond community and the region,” Paydar said. “I am confident that, by reorganizing the campus leadership, the quality of life of the citizens in our region and our students will improve.”
