This is the eighth consecutive year that IU East has hosted the Counselors’ Breakfast. Over 60 guidance counselors attended. This year’s theme centered on Rockefeller Center and New York City.
Indiana University East and the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) celebrated a successful first-year partnership on Sunday, August 10. The WTA and IU East commemorated the partnership with a plaque in recognition of the exclusive educational agreement for players during the Western & Southern Open tournament at the Lindner Family Tennis Center held just north of Cincinnati, August 9-17.
Indiana resident undergraduates enrolled at IU East will receive a 25 percent discount in tuition for courses taken in the summer this year. Nonresident undergraduate students will receive an equivalent dollar reduction in their tuition.
Indiana University East has awarded $78,000 in donor-funded scholarships to incoming freshmen and returning students for the 2013-2014 academic year.
Stephanie Hays-Mussoni, director of Gift Development, said over 130 students received scholarships from donor-based scholarships.
Indiana University East will celebrate College GO! Week September 23-27. The event offers high school students the opportunity to explore IU East and its academic programs.
The Indiana Commission for Higher Education established College GO! Week to encourage high school students to pursue a college education. IU East will highlight scholarships, campus spirit and traditions, opportunities for campus life, athletics and much more.
Indiana University East will host events throughout College GO! Week the week of September 24-28. The weeklong event offers high school students the opportunity to explore IU East and its academic programs.
Indiana University East distributed scholarships to area high school guidance counselors from Indiana and Ohio during its annual Counselors’ Breakfast held November 3 in Whitewater Hall.
“It is our responsibility to lead the region as the premier baccalaureate and master’s public institution in eastern Indiana and western Ohio,” said Chancellor Nasser Paydar. “It is a pleasure to work with these counselors who share our vision to increase the educational attainment in our region. Together, we are investing in the future of individual students and our communities.”
Indiana University East invites you to visit the Wayne County Fair this week. Special events are planned each night from 4-9 p.m. at the IU East booth, located behind the Kuhlman Center.
Indiana University East is welcoming its newest group of freshman to campus. New Student Orientations for the incoming Class of 2014 begin today. For new freshmen, this program is the first step to starting their college career.
