Middle and high school students who need assistance with math can receive help from Indiana University East’s Center for Service-Learning. The center offers Math Counts!, a tutoring program that pairs college students one-on-one with younger students to provide math tutoring free of charge.
Indiana University East has awarded $115,895 in donor-funded scholarships to incoming freshmen and returning students for the 2016-2017 academic year.

Guests were invited to the Spirit of Philanthropy Luncheon held September 16 at the Student Events and Activities Center on campus.

Indiana University East has announced a $44,000 gift from faculty member and alumnus, Roger Crane.
Crane, director of the accounting program and lecturer in accounting for the School of Business and Economics, said the IU East campus has been a gift to him.
Vice Chancellor for External Affairs Jason Troutwine said, “As an IU East graduate, Paula Kay knows our campus and the important role we play in our region. She has been actively involved in our community for several years and brings a great deal of energy and professionalism to this position. I am confident she will do wonderful things for IU East.”

The luncheon is from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22, at Forest Hills Country Club in Richmond.
Indiana University East Chancellor Kathryn Cruz-Uribe announced today that Jason Troutwine has been named IU East Vice Chancellor for External Affairs. Troutwine is currently foundation director at Reid Hospital & Health Care Services/Reid Foundation. He will begin his new duties at IU East on July 1, 2014.
The generosity of three donors has made it possible to offer new scholarships for students at Indiana University East. Paul Kriese, professor of political science at IU East, and Rod and Chris Weiss will support the two new scholarships.

Stephanie Hays-Mussoni, director of Gift Development, said over 130 students received scholarships from donor-based scholarships.
