Area business leaders and the community are invited to attend the IU Business Outlook Tour from 7:30-9 a.m. on Monday, November 18, at Reid Hospital & Health Care Services in the Lingle Grand Hall, located at 1100 Reid Parkway in Richmond. The IU Business Outlook Tour is presented by the IU East Alumni Association and the IU East School of Business and Economics and is sponsored by Reid Hospital & Health Care Services.
Indiana University Emergency Management and Continuity and The Polis Center will host a public information session regarding a multi-hazard mitigation plan for the IU East campus from 11 a.m. to noon on Wednesday (November 6) in the Whitewater Hall Community Room.
Indiana University East Chancellor Kathryn Cruz-Uribe during today’s Installation Ceremony outlined three main themes the campus will focus on to plan for its future. The themes encompass change that is grounded in values, including academic excellence and innovation; dedication to student success; and serving as a steward of place.
The installation ceremony for Indiana University East Chancellor Kathryn Cruz-Uribe will be held in the historic Richmond Depot District at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, October 25, at the Pennsylvania Railroad Depot. The theme of the ceremony will highlight Indiana University East as “A Steward of Place,” symbolizing the university’s deep commitment to the community and region it serves.
A record-breaking 4,456 students are enrolled for classes this fall at Indiana University East, marking the university’s 17th consecutive term of enrollment growth. Since fall 2007, IU East’s headcount enrollment has grown 96.6 percent.
Indiana University East and the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) agreed August 13 that the university is the primary provider for baccalaureate online degree completion programs for WTA players. The agreement was made official with a public signing at the Western & Southern Open tournament at the Lindner Family Tennis Center held in Mason, Ohio just north of Cincinnati.
IU East students lead sessions on Women in Art at the RAM
Indiana University East fine arts students will lead talks at the Richmond Art Museum during “Women in Art.” The first session is today (June 12) from 12:45-1:45 p.m. in McGuire Memorial Hall Auditorium. The sessions are free and open to the public.
The Class of 2013 will receive 560 diplomas during Indiana University East’s 42nd Commencement Ceremony at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 10, at the Richmond High School Tiernan Center. Of the degrees being conferred, 532 are bachelor’s degrees and 28 master’s degrees.
This year, the university will confer 532 baccalaureate degrees and 28 master’s degrees. The awarding of the degrees is a significant increase for IU East and this year marks the most awarded in the school’s history. In 2012, IU East awarded 445 baccalaureate degrees and 16 master’s degrees. Additionally, the first cohort of students in the Master of Science in Management will have degrees conferred during the ceremony.
The graduate students are currently each pursuing a Master of Fine Arts in Ceramics from the Henry Radford Hope School of Fine Arts at Indiana University in Bloomington. While the use of clay is a unifying element in this exhibition, each artist uniquely explores the diversity and exploration possible in the medium of ceramic.
