The Office of Academic Affairs and the Center for Teaching and Learning congratulates Jamie Buffington-Adams, assistant dean for the School of Education and assistant professor, for earning a Quality Matters Certification for her online course, Education of the Socially and Emotionally Disturbed (EDUC-K343). Her course is the first at Indiana University East to earn official Quality Matters certification.

Indiana University East Professor of Education Jerry Wilde and alumnae Leah Hostalet and Becky Melton will appear on the “TODAY” show June 4 to bring awareness to the need for kidney donations in the United States.
In the spirit of giving, the Becky Melton Scholarship has been established at Indiana University East by donors in honor of Melton’s selfless act to donate a kidney to Jerry Wilde, professor of education.
Gifts to the scholarship have generated enough funds to endow the scholarship. To date, IU East has received $13,700 through direct donations and a celebration hosted by Jerry and his wife, Polly Wilde.
Jerry Wilde, associate professor of educational psychology, was on “Wake Up With Whoopi” Tuesday morning to provide parents with tips on talking with their children about the images surrounding September, 11, 2001 terrorist attacks and the war in Iraq. Whoopi Goldberg’s radio show stream’s live on the internet and cities across the nation.
