Indiana University Police Department-East welcomed its two newly sworn officers to campus after graduating from the 45th class of the IU Police Academy on August 11. Cadet Officers Mitch Burelison, Centerville, Indiana, and Rikki Foust, Eldorado, Ohio, graduated from the IU Police Academy at the Indiana Memorial Union in Bloomington.
Indiana University East students welcomed community supporters to campus in appreciation of their contributions toward internships, leadership experiences and community service opportunities. Guests were invited to the Spirit of Philanthropy Luncheon held September 22 at the Student Events and Activities Center on campus.
Greg Braxton-Brown, dean of Southeast Indiana Programs and a professor of management, will endow a $25,000 gift to Indiana University East to establish a scholarship in the name of Tim Scales, director of the Center for Entrepreneurship, director for the Center for Economic Education and senior lecturer of business administration for the School of Business and Economics.
Indiana University East and G101.3 radio station today (June 18) announced Ross Bohlander as the High School Volunteer of the Month for May. The program honors area high school students for their service in the community.
Both graduated in June 2014 and are freshmen at IU East this fall. Truette is a graduate of Centerville Senior High School and Lemar is a graduate of Richmond High School.
Indiana University East awarded six scholarships for the 2014 Summer Research Scholar Program. Undergraduate students receive $2,000 to conduct a research project under the supervision of a faculty mentor.
Funding for the competitive program is provided by the Indiana University Office of the Vice Provost for Research and is matched by funds from IU East. All recipients will present their research findings during the seventh annual Student Research Day in spring 2015.

Olivia Robinson and Logan Ullery have been chosen as the 2013 Lingle Scholars. The scholarship award will continue throughout their pursuit of a four-year degree at Indiana University East.
Both graduated in June 2013 and are freshmen at IU East this fall. Robinson is a graduate of Hagerstown High School and Ullery is a graduate of Northeastern High School.

IU East students lead sessions on Women in Art at the RAM
Indiana University East fine arts students will lead talks at the Richmond Art Museum during “Women in Art.” The first session is today (June 12) from 12:45-1:45 p.m. in McGuire Memorial Hall Auditorium. The sessions are free and open to the public.
