A new event organized this year by Indiana University East and the Richmond Art Museum (RAM) to raise funds for the arts has sold out. Proceeds from this collaborative fundraiser benefit RAM programming and the IU East Department of Fine Arts.
This week, Indiana University East began renovation of Whitewater Hall Lobby. Work on the project began May 30 and is expected to be completed by September 8.
Local company Whisenhunt Construction, Inc., is the project’s general contractor. The renovation will enhance the space and improve the lobby’s energy efficiency and technology.
There was great success last year for the 2015 Wayne County Business Survey. The report had been released on the Indiana University East Business and Economic Research Center (BERC) website at http://www.iue.edu/business/berc/.
Wayne County Cultural Atlas to reveal cultural trail, marker during community event
Wayne County Cultural Atlas welcomes the community to celebrate the start of summer during the ALL-IN Block Party from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 7. The ALL-IN Block Party is a free event and will be held on 10th Street, between E. Main and Sailor streets in downtown Richmond.

The city of Richmond, Richmond Art Museum and Indiana University East have received an Our Town grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). Richmond is one of two cities in the state of Indiana to receive an Our Town grant this year; Indianapolis also received a grant.
Indiana University East’s Run with the Wolves 5K Run/Walk is coming up soon. Registration is open for this year’s Run with the Wolves 5K on Saturday, July 27, at Indiana University East.
The Indiana Supreme Court will visit Indiana University East on Tuesday, April 23, to hear oral argument. The court case will be argued in Vivian Auditorium, located in Whitewater Hall.
The oral argument is open to the media and public, though seating is limited. Vivian Auditorium will open at 11:45 a.m. for people to be seated and the oral argument will begin at 12:45 p.m. Once the oral argument begins further admittance by visitors to Vivian Auditorium will not be permitted.
