Traveling exhibit on Midwest POWs in WWII coming soon to IU East

April 3, 2008 |

The Indiana University East Campus Library and Morrisson-Reeves Library are sponsoring a traveling exhibit 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22. The exhibit will be located at IU East in the Whitewater Hall parking lot.

The exhibit is free and open to the public.

“Behind Barbed Wire: Midwest POWs in Nazi Germany” illustrates the history of the war-time prisoners through narrative text, multimedia, and artifacts. The exhibit examines how POWs survived the conditions and experiences, why some received help from the Germans or Austrians and how liberated POWs came to terms with their experiences. The St. Paul-based, non-profit educational organization TRACES created this exhibit.
