General Admission
- First, apply online or by calling the Indiana University East Office of Admissions.
Transfer Students: If you have previously completed any college courses, the Office of Admissions will evaluate your college transcript(s). Before making an appointment with the Academic Advisor, make sure your academic transfer credits are posted. You may view your Academic Credit Report via your Onestart account. You will receive an email from the Office of Admissions directing you to: Onestart> Student Center >My Academics & Grades > View Academic Credit Report. (It is the students’ responsibility to report errors to the Office of Admissions, 765-973-8208).
- Second, once you have been admitted to IU East, please make an appointment with the pre-nursing advisor to review your credits and complete an individual program plan.
- Third, if minimum eligibility requirements are met, students may apply to the School of Nursing. Application Packets are available in January via this website. Applications are DUE MARCH 1. Fall Admissions Only.

Application Process/Admission Requirements
BSN Consideration is based on the following categories:
Category I
Students who have taken more than half of their prerequisite coursework at Indiana University East, who have taken over half of their coursework at another Indiana University campus, or students who are regionally connected to the IU East campus service area, i.e., live in one of the following counties: Wayne, Union, Fayette, Franklin, Rush, Henry, Randolph, and Darke and Preble (Ohio).
Category II
Students who have no regional connection and students who have taken more than half of their prerequisite coursework outside the Indiana University educational system who now wish to complete their nursing major at IU East.
