Did you know that nurses are in high demand around the country?
During the two day camp, participants will:
Receive training in confidentiality, sterile technique, vital signs, health assessment and infection control
Practice hands-on nursing skills with a human patient simulator
Participate in simulation scenarios using their newly learned skills
Learn effective and therapeutic communication skills pertinent to the nursing profession
Identify the importance of inter-professional and multi-organizational collaboration
Participants will receive:
A set of scrubs that must be worn both days during the camp
Snacks and lunch on both days
Indiana University East School of Nursing and Health Sciences, in collaboration with East Indiana-Area Health Education Center (EI-AHEC), is offering this FREE two day Summer Sample of Nursing Skills and Simulation Camp for high school students with an interest in a career in nursing. Interested students should be entering their junior or senior year in the fall 2017 school year.
