Stage One Youth Theatre’s play, Pocahontas explores one girl’s efforts to establish peace in a world defined by suspicion and mistrust. It’s a wonderful show full of very talented Richmond area students. Combining history and myth, the play offers a different portrayal of Pocahontas, John Smith, and Jamestown; one that casts aside romance for a mediation of what children can accomplish in trying times.
