About ICEA
ICEA -- Indiana College English Association -- is a professional organization equally dedicated to scholarship and to teaching. One of twenty regional affiliates of the College English Association, the ICEA welcomes faculty, students, independent scholars and creative writers who are interested in contributing to scholarship, teaching, and literary culture.
Annual Conference
ICEA holds its annual conference in the fall of each year, alternating between public and private institutions of higher education in Indiana. Keynote speakers and presenters include well-known creative writers and scholars. Our conferences are intimate and welcoming, and give presenters an opportunity to share insights about literature, teaching, and writing.
Graduate Student Prizes
We encourage graduate students to present papers at ICEA conferences. In 2008, ICEA is initiating a competition with cash prizes for graduate students who compete and present at ICEA. Prizes will be awarded for best scholarly papers (first place $100, second place $50) and for best creative readings (first place $100, second place $50). Graduate students who plan to compete for these prizes MUST submit complete papers and/or manuscripts, along with the abstract, in order to be considered for competition. Please contact conference coordinator for details.
