Students acquire the knowledge, values, and skills that will enable them to better understand the origin and nature of criminal law, and the causes and extent of crime. Students are taught to rationally analyze the problems of the criminal justice system and the needs of society in a manner in keeping with democratic traditions of law, social well-being, and individual rights. As a graduate, students are well equipped to provide input on policies & programs and to assume productive roles in the criminal justice system and other public and private organizations.
