The Office of the Registrar is the official certifying body for verification of academic record information to agencies responsible for loan deferments, insurance companies, and other agencies that provide student benefits based on enrollment.
As of Fall 2007, Indiana University East (IU East) partnered with the National Student Clearinghouse to provide enrollment verification information for loan deferment. As of June 2008, IU East also partnered with the National Student Clearinghouse for processing of all degree verifications requests.
Acting as the University’s agent, the National Student Clearinghouse data is based on official IU East student records. Information about what has been shared with external agencies including lenders is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year from the National Student Clearinghouse Web site.
Academic record information, available for verification, may include prior and/or current enrollment, enrollment status (full-time, part-time), grades, GPA, and final degree conferral. Enrollment information is available for certification at the end of the 100% refund period for a particular term.
Enrollment cannot be certified for future terms even if a student has already registered for classes and paid for the term. Visit the academic calendar for specific enrollment verification dates.
It is important for students to keep their anticipated graduation date current as this information is used by lending agencies as part of deferment processing.
