Mission Statement
The Indiana University East Student Information Center (SIC) incorporates the traditional Welcome Center with the Offices of Retention Programs. This department exists to enhance student success by providing the following:
- Accurate information regarding campus services and events to students, faculty, staff, and guests of the campus.
- Excellent customer service to our publics, creating a warm welcoming friendly atmosphere to those entering our campus and whom we come in contact via telephone.
- Facilitation of various campus initiatives that enhance student success which include implementing strategies that directly improve retention.
- Coordinate with academic support while monitoring academic progress for IU East Student Athletes. Provide appropriate counseling and advising to student-athletes as needed.
- Serving as an advocate for all students regarding their IU East experiences and their welfare.
- Creation of a culture of constant self improvement as it reviews and initiates assessment projects with other co-curricular departments.
- A center that encourages faculty, staff, and student collaboration resulting in campus wide engagement in student success and satisfaction.
- Analysis and interpretation of data providing IU East leadership knowledge to make appropriate decisions to emphasize improvements in retention and graduation rates.
