Instructions For Enrollment Verification / Early Warning System

Notice to Faculty about Enrollment Verification and Early Warning

We are asking all faculty to participate in Enrollment Verification/Early Warning process three times during the Spring 2011 semester.

Initial Verification— January 25th through February 1st

Midterm Progress Report-- March 4th through March 11th

Final Roster Check— April 8th through April 15th

Enrollment verification will be conducted electronically through the Faculty Center of OneStart; this is required per IU East policy. This year, enrollment verification will be paired with the early warning process. This will allow us to monitor the academic progress of students and improve retention and persistence, while decreasing the reporting time for you.

The feedback that you provide is critically important to our retention efforts. Staff in University College and Retention Services follow-up with each student who is reported as having attendance or academic problems. Every attempt will be made to intervene with students to help them make improvements.

Below are the codes to use when reporting academic progress and attendance.

CODES

SA – Satisfactory attendance and satisfactory work

UA – Unsatisfactory attendance and unsatisfactory work

UW – Unsatisfactory work

IA – Inconsistent attendance

FN – Student has stopped attending class

NO – Use this code only if the student has never been physically present in your class or has never logged in to an online class.

Please email Brett Crowley (bcrowley@iue.edu) in Retention Services if you have concerns about students at any time during the semester.
