Retention Goals for 2010-2011
An essential step in the retention planning process is the formation of appropriate key retention strategies designed to achieve the goals that have been established. The strategies Represent the broad class of actions with long-term outcomes and are followed by detailed action plans which represent the immediate, short-term action steps that collectively form each strategy.
- Academic Support Services- Coordinate academic support to provide effective, efficient and convenient services to students
- Late Admits- Provide a more effective entrance to college for first-time beginning students who enroll in August and January
- Students in Pre professional Programs- Provide alternatives for students who are not admitted into Education, Nursing and Social Work programs
- Twenty-first Century Scholars- Provide additional resources for new and continuing scholars
- Online Student- Provide additional resources for students in online classes
- Spring Beginners- Provide additional resources for new students who begin in January
- Transfer Students- Provide additional support for transfer students
Overall population of freshmen
Achieve an annual return rate of 66 percent for first-time, full-time baccalaureate degree seeking freshmen entering the institution in the fall of 2010.
Probationary Students
Achieve a 21 percent retention rate for probationary students from Spring 2011
Exploratory
Achieve a retention rate of 58 percent for new degree seeking students with an exploratory major who enroll fall 2010.
