Mon - Fri: 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Tues & Thurs: 4 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Wolf Card required.Open Gym is subject to cancellation. Check the Upcoming Events or the Events Calendar for cancellations.

Open Gym Policies

  • Only IU East Students, Staff and Faculty allowed.
  • No food or drink allowed on the court.
  • Wheeled devices (excludes ADA devices necessary for mobility) such as roller blades, skateboards, scooters and hover boards, are not permitted.
  • Return equipment to proper location.
  • Clean up after yourself.
  • Be respectful of others.

About the Student Events and Activities Center

The Student Events and Activities Center promotes student success through a comprehensive offering of programs in health and wellness, physical education, athletics, student activities, and special events. The center is home to the Red Wolves and Lingle Court.

The Student Events and Activities Center is IU East's fifth building. The building was dedicated and opened to the public on August 19, 2016. Construction on the Student Events and Activities Center began in July 2015. A Groundbreaking Ceremony for the center was held in November 2014.

THANK YOU: Paul and Pat Lingle's $700K Gift

Paul and Pat Lingle have a strong connection to the history and development of Indiana University East. Since IU East was established in 1971, the Lingles have supported the campus. Today, they continue to be a part of IU East by providing a $700,000 gift to the new Student Events and Activities Center.

The Lingle name will be permanently etched on a plaque in the building and appear on the court where the Red Wolves basketball and volleyball teams will play future home games.

Dedication Ceremony

During the formal university ceremony, remarks were provided by IU President Michael A. McRobbie; IU East Chancellor Kathryn Cruz-Uribe; Angie Dickman, IU East Board of Advisors president and a campaign co-chair; Felicia Quigg, co-chair and member of the IU East Board of Advisors; and Lizzie Miller, president of the Student Government Association (SGA). IU Trustee James T. Morris also participated in the dedication.

First Sporting Event

The Indiana University East volleyball team served up the first competition in the Student Events and Activities Center during the Red Wolf Invitational on Sept. 2 and 3.

First Basketball Tournament - Homecoming Week

IU East's nationally ranked hoops squads played in their first basketball games in the Student Events and Activities Center during IU East Homecoming Week (October 1 through November 5). The Red Wolf men's and women's teams took the court as hosts of the inaugural Red Wolf Classic on Nov. 4 and 5.
