What a week! Where to start...
Finished my med/surg clinical time spent at the nursing home on Friday. It was interesting to say the least. It was my first actual patient care experience and showed me a whole world of nursing home care. Not sure if it's for me but I definitely have a whole new respect for the hard work the people who do it put in. I also gave my first medication while I was there. Granted it was just giving the patient some pills, but it's still a start. I got my second test coming up in the lecture portion of the class so I have studying for that to look forward to :(.
I also got to work my first admissions event in years this Friday. I think Kara said it was the largest event that they have ever held at one time. I was used to smaller groups but had to lead around an ENTIRE senior class around the school. It was fun though to be back helping the admissions office and working with the kids. It's fun answering their questions and just talking to them because I remember being in their shoes and thinking college was some crazy thing. I also have to give the university props on their prizes they give away now. No wonder admission rates are going up the way they are LOL. Congrats to the students who won all the AE clothes and the HP tablet!
FINALLY done with my care plan for tomorrow and ready to start what I'm sure will be another busy week.
