Individual Nutrition Consults for Employees & Spouses – Appointments Available

Healthy IU’s wonderful registered dietitian (RD), Steven Lalevich, can help you develop a plan to achieve your wellness goals in a judgment-free zone. Sessions include personalized nutrition education on any topic of interest. This highly valued one-on-one nutritional counseling is available at no charge for full-time employees and their spouses on an IU medical plan by appointment. Sessions last approximately 1 hour and are offered via phone or zoom during COVID precautions. Please email to schedule your appointment.

The Pantry

A food/soap pantry for IU East students and staff who may need a little extra help. You must show your Crimson Card and may visit the pantry once per month. Donations always welcome.

Hours: Tuesdays 9am-12pm and Wednesdays 1pm-4pm ( appointments can be made for emergency circumstances)

Personal Wellness HPER 119/219

This one or two credit hour course is designed for anyone interested in improving his or her personal physical health. Awareness is raised through fitness testing, blood work and education. Fitness Center membership is included with a minimum number of required points. Points are earned through health assessments and exercise sessions in the Graf Recreation Center and may be taken Pass/Fail or Audit only. [Course Listing]

IU Employee Assistance Program

For eligible full time academic and staff employees of IU. Call 1-888-234-8327 (365/24/7)
The IU Employee Assistance Program (IUEAP) was established to provide professional help when day-to-day activities are interrupted by stress. IUEAP services are confidential and voluntary. Some common reasons to use IUEAP services include:

  • Depression
  • Stress and anxiety
  • Conflict in the workplace
  • Drug and alcohol abuse
  • Family and marital problems
  • Grief and loss

IU East Student Assistance

While Indiana University East does not have a formal student assistance program, we are committed to assisting students with substance use issues. Students wishing to seek assistance for alcohol or drug related issues may contact Deanna Cooper (765-973-8216), wellness specialist in the Center for Health Promotion to schedule a counseling appointment or for information on resources and referrals to appropriate community agencies.

Senior Center Visits

We provide wellness services for area seniors. Available services include: BP screens, lipid profiles, glucose testing, health risk appraisals, seated exercise sessions, medication education and more.

Massage Therapy

A licensed massage therapist provides discounts off campus.

Health Fairs

Nursing students host wellness fairs at senior centers each Fall.

The CHP hosts an employee wellness fair each Spring with vendors, giveaways, local community resources and more!
