Sara Baxter was accepted to participate in a competitive program for poetry writing at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio. Each summer the Kenyon Review Writer’s Workshop selects 10 poets for each of its two summer workshops. The writing-intensive workshop is an opportunity for Baxter to work on her poetry with distinguished poets and professors and to share her work with peers. At IU East, Baxter is a writing consultant for the Writing Lab. She also is the managing editor of Tributaries. Her poetry has been published in Tributaries and Indiana’s Best Emerging Poets by Z Publishing. Sara will be serving as a Research Assistant for Jean Harper, Associate Professor of English and Director of Graduate Programs in English during the 2018-2019 academic year. Baxter will work with Harper on graphic novels, nonfiction, and poetry. Baxter is a second-year MA student at IU East.
