IU East’s Human Resources director receives award for excellence

Indiana University East’s director of Human Resources and Payroll received the Award for Professional Excellence during the Indiana Society for Human Resource Management Conference. The conference was held August 27-29 in downtown Indianapolis.

Dianne Chandler, SPHR, is certified as a senior professional in Human Resources and compensation professional. She has worked at IU East for 22 years. She has worked in the HR field for 21 years. She was the co-founder and facilitator of PATH, Promoting Access to Healthcare, an initiative to increase the participation of Richmond area doctors in the Anthem health networks.

Chandler has served the Eastern Indiana Human Resources Association over the past 12 years where she has been the Certification Director, and has been on the Management Leadership Conference Committee, Scholarship Committee, and Nominating Committee. She also has served the local community through her involvement with the Girl Scouts, Ball State University, National Trail Local Schools, the United Way of the Whitewater Valley, YWCA Personnel Committee, and many others.

The Award for Professional Excellence recognizes an individual who applies creative management concepts to improve performance, advance the profession, and promote the understanding of HR Management. Chandler and Allen Mounts, SPHR, executive vice president and chief human resources officer for Old National Bank, received this year’s award.
