Katalin Marosi was presented with her Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree on February 16 during a virtual degree presentation shown live on video conference in Whitewater Hall Lobby First Richmond Bank Tech Zone.
Daren Snider is the new dean for the Indiana University East School of Humanities and Social Sciences. He will begin at IU East July 1, 2018.
Currently, he is the associate dean of the College of Fine Arts & Humanities at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
The Indiana University East School of Business and Economics received notification from the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) that it has reaffirmed accreditation of the business programs.
The School of Business and Economics received affirmation for its Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree program, including Concentrations in CPA Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Finance, Computer Information Systems (formerly Management Information Systems), Marketing, Economics and Entrepreneurship. The Master of Science in Management received its first accreditation from ACBSP.
Indiana University East will offer a lecture series in celebration of Black History Month. Events are free and open to the public.
The first lecture will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 6, in the Nasser Paydar Classroom located in the Student Events Center. Cal Simpson, faculty in marketing and lecturer in management for the IU East School of Business and Economics, will present, “Blackenomics: Entrepreneurship in the Black Community.”
A new event organized this year by Indiana University East and the Richmond Art Museum (RAM) to raise funds for the arts has sold out. Proceeds from this collaborative fundraiser benefit RAM programming and the IU East Department of Fine Arts.
Elizabeth “Elly” Huereca is the first undergraduate student to receive the Indiana University East School of Education Minority Scholarship.
Huereca of Fountain City, Indiana, is a junior elementary education major. She moved from Palmdale, California, to the area in 2011 to pursue her degree.
Indiana University East will host two Legislative Forums to provide an opportunity for the community to have an in-person discussion with Senator Jeff Raatz and Representatives Tom Saunders and Dick Hamm. The forums are free and open to the public.
Five faculty members at Indiana University East have been named grant recipients for research projects and course development.
The faculty will be presented with their awards during the Faculty & Staff Annual Award Ceremony on March 29, 2018.
Indiana University East’s School of Business and Economics will offer the Spring Speaker Series beginning February 12.
Discussions will begin at 4 p.m. and will be held in Tom Raper Hall, Room 124. The series is free and open to the public.
Indiana University East will celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a Day of Service; keynote speaker Karen Freeman-Wilson, mayor for the City of Gary; a Candlelight Vigil; and a presentation on the Underground Railroad.
