IU East announces faculty promotion and tenure

Three Indiana University East faculty recently received approval for promotion and/or tenure by by President Michael McRobbie and the Indiana University Board of Trustees. Additionally, one faculty member who holds a clinical rank was approved for a long-term contract. All are effective beginning the 2019-2020 academic year.

IU East presents Faculty and Staff Recognition awards

Indiana University East presented several faculty and staff with awards during the Faculty and Staff Recognition celebration held March 28.

Gloria Dixon, clinical assistant professor of nursing, received the Helen Lees Award for Excellence in Teaching. The award was established in 1991. Professor Emeritus Lees passed away in 1992, but her spirit continues in this annual award to honor a full-time faculty member who has taught at least 10 semesters at IU East.

IU East to present honorary degrees to Craig Kinyon, Charlie Nelms

Indiana University East will present Indiana University Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters to Craig Kinyon and Charlie Nelms during its 48th Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 10.

Indiana University President Michael A. McRobbie will confer the honorary degrees at the ceremony.

ATHENA Leadership Award®, Young Professional Leadership Award nominations accepted through April 26

The deadline to submit nominations for this year’s ATHENA Leadership Award® and the ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award is 5 p.m. on Friday, April 26.

The ATHENA Leadership Award® will be presented to an exemplary leader who has achieved excellence in their business or profession, served the community in a meaningful way and, most importantly, actively assisted women to achieve their full leadership potential. The event recognizes women leaders who motivate, inspire and create positive change in the community. Previous award recipients include Mary Jo Clark, Jackie Carberry, Kim Poinsett, Angie Dickman and Janice Buhl-Macy.
