Thanks to the tremendous support from the local business communities, economic development corporations and chambers of commerce, the IU East Business and Economic Research Center (the BERC) continues to see successful response rates each year for the East-Central Business Survey. Based on the valuable responses collected, the BERC successfully calculated the 2017 value of the IU East Regional Business Confidence Index. The report had been released on the IU East Business and Economic Research Center (the BERC) website at iue.edu/business/berc.
When Chloe Anderson was deciding whether to go to a Big Ten college in her home state of Ohio or Indiana University East, she considered her options carefully.

Sanga Song, assistant professor of marketing, received her Ph.D. in Retail Merchandising and Consumer Studies from the University of Minnesota. She received her Master of Science in Clothing and Textiles with a concentration in Fashion Marketing and her Bachelor of Arts in Human Environment and Design with a minor in Political Diplomacy from Yonsei University, in Seoul, Korea.
The Class of 2022 is Indiana University East’s largest and most diverse incoming class.
Cherie Dolehanty is the new director of University College at Indiana University East. She will begin her role August 27.
University College is a department that provides support to first-year students and new online students through success coaching, advising, career planning, the First-Year Seminar, workshops, and other events.
Indiana University Police Department-East welcomed its two newly sworn officers to campus after graduating from the 45th class of the IU Police Academy on August 11. Cadet Officers Mitch Burelison, Centerville, Indiana, and Rikki Foust, Eldorado, Ohio, graduated from the IU Police Academy at the Indiana Memorial Union in Bloomington.
IU East’s Run with the Wolves 5K race scheduled for tomorrow, July 21, has been cancelled. The cancellation comes as a result of the continued law enforcement search for two dangerous fugitives who are thought to be near the IU East campus. The cancellation is to help ensure the safety of our 5K participants, sponsors, volunteers and staff.
Indiana University East and the New Castle Community School Corporation have developed a plan for the future use of the Danielson Learning Center that will continue serving the educational needs of Henry County residents.
Indiana University East will host three training sessions on Human Sex Trafficking July 23-24, 2018. Each training session will pertain to a specific audience: members of the community, service providers, and law enforcement.
