Indiana University East students can save money and accelerate their progress toward earning a degree by taking advantage of a summer 2014 tuition discount.summertuition2014

Indiana resident undergraduates enrolled at IU East will receive a 25 percent discount in tuition for courses taken in the summer this year. Nonresident undergraduate students will receive an equivalent dollar reduction in their tuition.

The IU Board of Trustees approved the tuition discount program in October 2011 in an effort to provide financial relief for students, promote year-round college attendance, shorten the time it takes for students to graduate and make more effective use of university facilities.

The tuition discount allows current IU East students and students from other IU campuses who live or spend the summer in the eastern Indiana and western Ohio region to save money and earn extra credits toward graduation in summer school at IU East. Students who attend a college or university other than Indiana University may choose to enroll in IU East summer classes, assuming they ensure the credits will transfer to their home institution. IU East’s vast array of online courses provides additional opportunities for students to take advantage of the summer savings.

For students who take a full academic course load at IU East in the summer, the tuition reduction will result in savings of more than $700.

IU East registration for summer classes is going on now. Summer classes begin May 19.
