October 26, 2011 |

Indiana University East invites area business leaders and the community to attend the Indiana University 2012 Business Outlook Panel on November 15. The luncheon and panel discussion will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Lingle Grand Hall, Reid Hospital & Health Care Services.

The Business Outlook Panel is presented by the IU East Alumni Association and the IU East School of Business and Economics and is sponsored by Reid Hospital & Health Care Services.

For 38 years, the Business Outlook Panel from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business has presented national, state, and local economic forecasts for the coming year to business, political, and community leaders of Indiana. The panel is known for its ability to identify key economic trends.

Among the questions the panel plans to address are: What are the chances of a double-dip recession? When will jobs start growing again at a healthy rate? How strong will economic growth be in the coming year – both for the state and the nation? Can stimulus spending make much difference to our long-term growth prospects?

Indiana University panelists include Kyle Anderson, assistant professor of Economics at the IU Kelley School of Business; Jerry Conover, director of the Indiana Business Research Center at the IU Kelley School of Business; Bill Witte, co-director of the Center for Econometric Model Research and an associate professor emeritus of economics at IU. Tim Rogers, president/CEO of the Wayne County Area Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Corporation of Wayne County will serve as the local panelist. David Frantz, dean of the IU East School of Business and Economics and associate professor of management will moderate the discussion.

The cost is $15 per person and includes lunch. Event proceeds benefit the IU East Alumni Association Scholarship Fund and will assist students in the School of Business and Economics.

Reservations are required. RSVP by November 8 to Terry Wiesehan, IU East director of Alumni Relations and Campus Events, at (765) 973-8221 or email twiesaha@iue.edu. Online registration is available at iue.edu/outlook.
