IU East receives ADDY, AEAA Awards
Indiana University East received several awards from the 27th Annual Educational Advertising Awards, sponsored by the Higher Education Marketing Report, including a gold, bronze, and four merit awards. The national competition recognizes the fields of admissions marketing and advertising.

American Advertising Federation is the oldest national advertising trade association, representing 40,000 professionals in the advertising industry.

IU East received a gold award for its alumni magazine Radius. The award is for the graphic design of the spring 2011 edition. The university also received a silver award for its Office of Admissions Search Piece. The piece is IU East’s a publication for prospective students.

On February 25, IU East received two ADDY awards from the American Advertising Federation of East Central Indiana during the annual dinner held at the Horizon Convention Center in Muncie.

Registrar receives AACRO award
Dennis Hicks, registrar, has been selected by the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) Board of Directors as the recipient of the Tom Bilger Citation for Service.

The award is presented to members with five or more years of service to AACRAO who have provided outstanding contributions to conferences and programs, special projects, task forces, committee assignments, or other positions.

Hicks will be presented with the award during the AACRAO Annual Meeting in Philadelphia, on Sunday, April 1.

“Let’s Talk” Forum to discuss Aging and Alzheimer’s Disease
The Indiana University East School of Humanities and Social Sciences and the School of Nursing will host its third discussion for the “Let’s Talk” series from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, March 5, in Vivian Auditorium, located in Whitewater Hall.

The topic “Aging and Alzheimer’s Disease” will be led by speakers Paula Baumann, assistant professor of nursing, Carolyn Britt, lecturer in nursing, and Aimee Prater, visiting professor of psychology.

“Let’s Talk” is an interactive forum for students, faculty, and members of the community to participate free of charge. The event includes a comprehensive presentation by IU East faculty on the social or medical topic followed by a question and answer discussion led by a moderator. Questions will be submitted to the presenters anonymously from the audience.
