Olivia Robinson, an elementary education major with a minor in mathematics, is learning by doing. As part of her Honors Senior Thesis, she single-handedly designed, coordinated, and conducted a mathematics tutoring program at Northeastern Elementary School in Fountain City, Ind.
Mackenzie Spurrier and Destiny Maitlen have been chosen as the 2015 Lingle Scholars. The scholarship award will continue throughout their pursuit of a four-year degree at Indiana University East.

The IU East Enactus team won a regional championship in its league during the 2014 Enactus United States National Exposition held March 31-April 3 in Cincinnati. The team advanced to the national competition held the same week in Cincinnati and placed in the top 100 schools.

The pinning ceremony for Indiana University East nursing graduates on Friday, May 10, begins at 2 p.m. with a slide show followed by the ceremony at 2:30 p.m. The annual ceremony for nursing students will be held at the Ligthhouse Assembly of God, located at 2339 West Cart Road in Richmond.
This year, the university will confer 532 baccalaureate degrees and 28 master’s degrees. The awarding of the degrees is a significant increase for IU East and this year marks the most awarded in the school’s history. In 2012, IU East awarded 445 baccalaureate degrees and 16 master’s degrees. Additionally, the first cohort of students in the Master of Science in Management will have degrees conferred during the ceremony.
