Indiana University East and Morrisson-Reeves Library welcome the public to “Chocolate in Mesoamerica” at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, at the library, located at 80 North 6th Street in Richmond.  The event is free.

KT Lowe, instruction coordinator and service-learning coordinator at IU East, is presenting. Lowe will guide participants through the history and mythology of chocolate, with a selection of rare favorites from Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador and Venezuela available for tasting. Also enjoy Mesoamerican musical selections by Jef Reynolds.

“Chocolate in Mesoamerica” is funded by Latino Americans: 500 Years of History, a public programming initiative produced by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and the American Library Association.
