Three Indiana University East faculty recently received approval for promotion and/or tenure by by President Michael McRobbie and the Indiana University Board of Trustees. Additionally, one faculty member who holds a clinical rank was approved for a long-term contract. All are effective beginning the 2019-2020 academic year.

Receiving promotion and/or tenure, or a long-term contract is a significant career milestone; a recognition of achievements and contributions, of which these faculty and our campus community can be proud.

Susan Brudvig

Faculty Promotion and Tenure
School of Business and Economics
Susan Brudvig, associate professor of business administration and marketing, was awarded tenure. She received her Doctorate in Business Administration from Florida State University. She received her Master of Business Administration from Purdue University, her Master of Arts in Sociology from Marquette University and her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin at Parkside. Her research interests are the application of methods, including problems in clustering, multicollinearity, coarse measurement.She has published articles in Young Consumers, International Journal of Electronic Commerce and the Journal of Supply Chain Management.

Dianne Moneypenny

School of Humanities and Social Sciences
Dianne Moneypenny was awarded tenure and was promoted to associate professor of World Languages and Cultures. She received her Ph.D. in Hispanic Studies from the University of Kentucky. She received her M.A. in Spanish from the University of Louisville, her B.A. in Biology and a B.A. in Spanish from Indiana University Southeast. Her research interests include food studies in the areas of food and identity, culture and anthropology; cartography in Medieval and Colonial Latin America; Medieval Spanish literature; and teaching and learning online, study abroad and oral fluency in online language. She has had her work published in IndyWrites and Romance Quarterly.

Margaret Thomas Evans

Margaret Thomas-Evans was awarded tenure and was promoted to associate professor of English. She also serves as the chair of the English department. She earned her Ph.D. in Composition, Rhetoric and Technical Communication at Miami University. She received her Master of Arts in English from Wright State University and her Bachelor of Arts in Independent Studies from the University of Lancaster. Her research interests are online teaching pedagogy and practice, community writing and service learning, women and rhetoric, and academic leadership. She has published work about teaching online, leadership, and rural women’s rhetoric.

Jane Lamb

Faculty Long-Term Contract
School of Education
Jane Lamb, clinical faculty, was awarded a long-term contract. Lamb is also the director of field placements and a licensing advisor for the School of Education. She received her master’s degree from Ball State University and her bachelor’s degree from IU East. She has presented at state and national conferences including the Classroom Literacy Conference, the Indiana Reading Association Conference and the State School Board Association.
