The Indiana University East Center for Economic Education has received a $15,000 in-kind award from the Indiana Department of Education that will allow K-12 teachers in nine counties free access to educational curriculum materials. The Center for Economic Education is a part of the School of Business and Economics.

Tim Scales, director of both the Center for Economic Education and the Center for Entrepreneurship and a lecturer of business administration at IU East, said the funding from the Indiana Department of Education will provide curriculum materials for 20 school corporations including 78 schools and over 400 teachers.

“This funding will help to build a resource center to provide free curriculum materials to help instruct economics, entrepreneurship, science and social studies,” Scales said.

The nine counties using the materials include Wayne, Dearborn, Delaware, Fayette, Franklin, Randolph, Ripley, Rush and Union.
