Indiana University East’s School of Humanities and Social Sciences received a Best Online Bachelor’s in Writing ranking by BestColleges. IU East offers a Bachelor of Science in English, Technical and Professional Writing.

IU East’s program ranked eighth on the list of 15. BestColleges ranked the programs based on statistical data and guiding principles on academic quality, affordability and online competency.

Margaret Thomas Evans, associate dean for the School of Humanities and Social Sciences and the chair of the English Department, said the department is very proud of this accomplishment.

“It could not be achieved without the dedication of the faculty to our online program in technical and professional writing,” Evans said.

The online completion program provides students with the skills and flexibility to succeed in the workplace. Students learn how to think critically and to communicate thoughts and ideas effectively in various media, preparing for a career in a wide range of fields from advertising and public relations to social services or writing for publication.
