IU East’s upcoming exhibit features work of IU graduate students

April 9, 2013 |

Indiana University East’s next art exhibit will feature the work of six Indiana University graduate students. “Brickhouse” will be on display April 8 to May 31.

The graduate students are currently each pursuing a Master of Fine Arts in Ceramics from the Henry Radford Hope School of Fine Arts at Indiana University in Bloomington. While the use of clay is a unifying element in this exhibition, each artist uniquely explores the diversity and exploration possible in the medium of ceramic.

The artists include:
Jared Gelormino
Bill Pariso
Carolyn Watkins
Katie Jacobs
Kimberly Luther
Tai Rogers

Three of the exhibiting artists will discuss their inspirations, process, and aspirations during a lecture on April 10, 5:30-6:30 p.m. in Whitewater Hall, room 132.

Visitors are welcome to view the exhibit during gallery hours, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. For more information, call Ed Thornburg, gallery curator, at (765) 973-8605 or visit iue.edu/gallery.
