Pianist to feature the music of Hoagy Carmichael, Cole Porter

The public is invited to attend an evening of musical entertainment featuring the works of Hoagy Carmichael and Cole Porter at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 10, in the Lingle Auditorium at Reid Hospital & Health Care Services.

“An Evening with Hoagy and Cole” features pianist Bob Williams with narration by his wife, Pat Williams. The Williams, of Bloomington, Ind., are inviting participants to take a walk down memory lane and enjoy the music and adventures of these two beloved Indiana composers.

The event is sponsored by Reid Hospital & Health Care Services, the Indiana University East Alumni Association, and the Eastern Indiana Chapter of the IUAA.

Bob Williams earned his bachelor’s degree in piano and master’s degree in theater from Indiana University. While a student at IU, Williams served as accompanist, arranger and soloist for the Jacobs School of Music Singing Hoosiers. The Williams’ have traveled with the IU Alumni Association for a variety of performances as well as tours to Arizona, the Carolinas and Florida.

The Williams have produced CDs including Keep the Music Playing, Ballads for a Rainy Afternoon, At the Piano…Bob Williams, and Can’t Get Hoagy Off My Mind.
