Current Teaching Interest
Denise regularly teaches a range of courses including: Social Theory, Society and the Individual, Gender Inequality, Queer Identities and Communities, Deviant Behavior and Social Control, Religion and Society, Senior Capstone, and Qualitative Research.
Current Research Interest
Theoretically, Denise is a symbolic interactionist and a postmodernist. Her primary research areas of emphasis are Sexualities; Identity, Social Inequality; Social Control and Deviance. Her current research focuses on gender and sexual identity transitions as well as continued research on early pornography.
